On March 15, 2009, Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa debuted its newly-revamped Pirates Island Waterpark to rave reviews. Families vacationing at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa this weekend were among the first to experience the waterpark’s lazy river, surf simulator and seven new waterslides! A total of nine body and tube slides are now available to guests, offering enthusiasts up to 300 feet worth of heart-pounding twists and turns. A separate ‘splash’ deck, complete with water cannons, pop-up jets, cranks and spray features, helped keep guests cool while still engaging in waterpark fun. Tiny tots also splashed around a special zero-entry pool.
Among the waterpark’s star attractions was the all-new surf simulator, where adventure seekers cranked it up on boogie and surf boards amidst white-water rafting and surfing conditions. Created by SurfStream™, the surf simulator engaged novices and seasoned gliders alike with the most realistic surfing experience imaginable. The surfing simulator also allowed for multiple guests to ride safely at once, creating the ultimate riding experience.
