Porter soars to St. John’s

Porter Airlines is celebrating the launch of its 10th destination and an increasing presence in Atlantic Canada with its inaugural service to St. John’s, Nfld., which debuted yesterday. As part of expanded service to the region, the airline is offering four daily non-stop roundtrip flights between St. John’s and Halifax, with ongoing direct flights also connecting Ottawa and Toronto. Porter’s inaugural flight landed in St. John’s yesterday and was met by political figures, business officials and tourism industry representatives at St. John’s International Airport.

Jamaica Named Best Caribbean Golf

For the golf-lovers Jamaica has received the title "Golf Destination of the Year for the Caribbean and Latin America" at the 2009 International Golf Travel Market. The destination was voted on by more than 300 members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.

Jamaica is home to 12 courses throughout the island, which cover a wide range of atmosphere and characteristics. From December 2-6 it will host the fouth annual Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am 'Annie's Revenge', presented by the Jamaica Tourist Board and Nike Golf.
