AIR CANADA ADDS HALIFAX-TURKS AND CAICOS SERVICE
As of February 2012, Air Canada will be offering seasonal flights from Halifax to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos

Air Canada recently announced new direct, non-stop service from Halifax, NS to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, set to begin on Feb. 16, 2012 and run until Apr. 26, 2012. Outbound flights will depart Halifax on Thursdays at 1:45 p.m. arriving in Providenciales at 5:30 p.m., with the return times departing at 6:30 p.m. and arriving into Halifax at 11:57 p.m.

With this new route being added by Air Canada, the Turks and Caicos Islands are now accessible to travellers from a new province who did not have the option of direct flights before.  This new route comes at time when the islands have just completed one of its most successful seasons and look to further growth to its tourism arrivals.

This new Halifax flight will be one of eight flights per week from Canada during high season. Service from Toronto is expanding to five flights per week, December to April, along with a continued Thursday flight from Montreal and a Monday flight from Ottawa. Saturday and Sunday flights operate year round.

Florida welcomes new ride

Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida, has opened its new Cheetah Hunt ride, the world’s first triple launch roller coaster. The ride opens to the public today, in time for the summer holiday season.
The ride, which includes fast twists and super turns, has been designed to replicate the movement of a cheetah. It lasts for around three and half minutes, and moves at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour, stopping suddenly three times. There are also glass panels, enabling guests to get closer to the cheetahs in the enclosure.
