TPI and Transat Holidays Partner for Giveaway in Support of Hurricane Igor Relief Efforts

WINNIPEG, CANADA – Travel Professionals International (TPI), Canada’s largest network of independent travel consultants, in partnership with Transat Holidays, is proud to announce its participation in the “We Stand on Guard” benefit concert, 19 October 2010, at Mile One Centre, St. John’s, Newfoundland, in support of those impacted by Hurricane Igor.

Striking Newfoundland 21 September 2010, Hurricane Igor forced many flooded and wind-battered towns to declare states of emergency following over 200 millimetres of rainfall and winds gusting to 150 km/h. Assisting in relief efforts through ticket sales for the benefit concert, an all-inclusive one week stay for two at the Gran Bahia Principe Coba Royal Golden 5-star Riviera Maya Mexico will be awarded as the grand prize of the benefit event.

“Every year, thousands of trips to and from the East Coast of Canada are booked through TPI,” said Phil Sproul, TPI President. “With many from our family of travel consultants calling Atlantic Canada home, we’re honoured to play a small role in raising funds for those affected by Hurricane Igor.”
