THE Barbados Tourism Authority recently launched Fully Accessible Barbados (FAB), a flagship program of the Barbados Council for the Disabled, in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism and the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association. The program was designed to create an inclusive environment to benefit not only Barbadians but also the island’s visitors.
Barbados now features hotels, bathrooms, restaurants, parking with wheelchair access, as well as assistance for the blind and visually impaired. Places with such access now include: Accra Beach Hotel, Amaryllis Beach Resort, Colony Club, Hilton Barbados, The Kensington Oval, The Sheraton Mall, The George Washington House, The Beach House, Chefette, Just Grillin’ and Brown Sugar Restaurants and Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI).
