Robertson College continues to be Manitoba’s fastest growing Private Vocational Institute. Located in Winnipeg with over 490 students enrolled in the 2008-2009 school year and growing strong in 2010. The College is located conveniently in Winnipeg’s Exchange district close to bus routes, shopping centers, and restaurants.

The Winnipeg College offers career training in health care, business, and information technology and all programs are under one year in length.  Robertson College is a leader in post secondary education and is committed to helping students have success in college.  

Upon graduation, students can find jobs in Winnipeg or abroad depending on their chosen career.   In addition to offering full time study programs, Robertson College offers online distance education for students interested in part-time studies or are looking for an at home study program. Prospective students who are interested in online study programs are given up to two years to complete their diploma program and most programs qualify for external funding.

Robertson College also offers continuing education programs in the evening such as its Health Care Aide Challenge program. These programs are designed for students who are looking to become certified in their field or upgrade their education to further their careers.

Flying in Canada, Air Canada and West Jet, is easy.  I am allowed 2 checked bags each bag weighing no more than 50 lbs each.  Whatever you do though, don’t have one bag weigh 52 lbs and the other 48 lbs. You will be standing at the Baggage Check-In repacking your bags to get them both within the 50 lbs weight restriction.  You could say forget it, it isn’t worth the hassle, think again.  For each bag weighing between 50 to 100 lbs there is a $50 charge.

But what if I am traveling internationally to the States, Europe, or Australia, and am changing Airlines? Baggage policies differ from Airline to Airline and can change without notice.  For example Lufthansa allows baggage up to 44 lbs in total to be checked without a fee being charged, while Qantas allows baggage up to 50 lbs. The best thing to do is check with your travel agent or directly with the airline before you travel to ensure there are no surprises when you go to check in.

• Wash your hands often.
• Keep common areas clean.
• Cough or sneeze into your sleeve not your hands.
• If you are sick, STAY HOME until all your symptoms are gone and you feel like participating in activities again.
• If you have flu-like symptoms, are pregnant or have underlying health problems or your symptoms get worse, contact your health care professional.

•  Most major hotels have in house doctors which can assist you or your hotel will be able to refer you to a local doctor.
• If you need urgent care, ambulances are often not available, take whatever transportation is available to the closest medical facility.
