River Cruising

What an extraordinary way to travel the world’s most famous rivers!

Experienced travelers appreciate the value of a river cruise experience. Imagine the whole time you are cruising, you actually have land in sight and can see the towns and villages as you cruise by! River Cruising is the perfect way to see the historic cities of Europe. Learn about some of Europe’s treasures and hidden secrets. You will experience fascinating history and local traditions as you cruise past tranquil landscapes, alluring hamlets and magnificent hilltop castles. You will discover the area's highlights, as well as places only the locals know about.

The average river cruise holds between 120- 150 passengers. No waiting in long lines to get on and off the ship. All staterooms are ocean view, most with balconies, floor to ceiling windows, or with a picture window. The cabins are quite spacious- similar to a regular cruise ship size accommodation. Most of these ships have been built in the last 4 to 8 years and new ones are coming out each season. The vessels also usually feature a fitness center, beauty salon, whirlpool, walking track on the sun deck and bicycles for passengers to explore quaint towns and villages on their own.

Most days you are in a port. They range from small towns and villages to large cities. You are docked in the heart of the towns, so no long transfers and time wasted getting into the towns. Each day you have an included shore excursion for the city or town you are visiting. Shore excursions give you an in-depth, authentic view of the cultures and histories you will visit.

You have a Cruise Manager on board, much like a Cruise Director and Shore Excursion expert on other cruise lines. There are several lounges on board and live entertainment. There are great enrichment lectures delving into the history and culture. There are also culinary demonstrations. Most ships are non smoking, so the only smoking will be on the top deck outside. There are no kids programs on board these ships, so if you do bring the children please bear this in mind.

Meals are open seating, so you can sit with your new found friends or search out some people you would like to get to know. Many of the ships include regional wines with dinner and the wine choices change each evening.

As the stars shine overhead and the moon casts its reflection, romance and excitement fill the air along the riverbank. Toast your friends and savour the perfectly paired free-flowing regional wines as you share your discoveries and highlights of the day with your new friends and traveling companions.

Dance the night away with the locals at the many open-air festivals and events during the warm summer months. Your ship is docked close to the heart of each town and city so you can easily venture ashore to delve into the spirit of each city’s exciting evening culture, traditions and activities.

Europe's most charming towns and their friendly people are waiting to welcome you with open arms.
